Snoa has been a rising artist in the UK scene for the last few years, New being his debut album released in April 2025. It's a short one, coming in at 15 minutes.
Best job opens with a dreamy layered beat and a great flow from Snoa. He has a very relaxed way of rapping but enunciates his lines well and keeps the flow centered, it's slurred but not the point you can't understand him. That song and half of the tape overall is produced by 444jet and the other half is self-produced. Pick a side is one of the highlights, with a dense Jerk beat and one of his best verses. Temptations is one of the most well-written tracks on here, Snoa talking more about his faith here and on other songs. It's very refreshing to hear someone from the current wave talk about it seriously. In general the second half of this tape has beautiful writing, the mood staying mostly dreary but with an uplifting direction.

New is a notable album in the current scene and an incredibly promising debut. Snoa's lyricism is solid, encompassing multiple topics that aren't common in the underground. The production is hazy and atmospheric, especially impressive when half of it is produced by Snoa himself. My only major complaint is with how short this album is at only seven tracks long, it flies by a bit too quickly. Despite this the songs manage to be well-structured and not feel half-baked unlike when his peers do it. He's dropped 4 more tapes since this, which I'll definitely check out sometime too.
